C-SPAN StudentCam 2025

As lead graphic designer for the 2025 edition of C-SPAN’s national StudentCam documentary competition, I was responsible for creating a unified visual campaign that could reach students across the country through print, digital, and on-air formats. The campaign centered around a prompt and theme closely tied to the recent presidential election.

My initial concept drew inspiration from traditional forms of messaging—letters, envelopes, stamps—to emphasize the personal nature of communication. However, during the feedback process, I was challenged to modernize the aesthetic and incorporate visuals that reflect how young people communicate today, including smartphones, video cameras, and social media. This required a creative pivot: blending the sincerity of the original concept with the immediacy and energy of contemporary tools.

The final design system, created using InDesign and Photoshop, was implemented across a wide variety of deliverables, including posters, flyers, postcards, stickers, web banners, email graphics, and TV promos. Once again, the campaign received strong praise from internal teams and educators alike, and contributed to thousands of student entries. This project pushed me to navigate creative feedback with flexibility, while still advocating for clarity, cohesion, and design integrity.
