C-SPAN StudentCam 2023
For the 2023 cycle of C-SPAN’s annual StudentCam documentary competition, I was tasked with developing a visually compelling campaign that would spark the interest of students in grades 6–12. As lead illustrator and graphic designer, I created the campaign’s central artwork from scratch—drawing every element featured on the final poster, which served as the foundation for all other materials across the campaign.
The project began with a large-format poster mailed to schools and teachers across the U.S., followed by a series of adaptations for print collateral (postcards, handouts, flyers, stickers) and digital graphics (web ads, email banners, social media, and on-air graphics). Tools included Illustrator and InDesign for the print campaign, with Photoshop for the digital components.
This was my largest illustrative project to date and a defining moment in my growth as a designer. I gained valuable experience in vector illustration, asset reuse, and efficient file management—especially across formats and platforms. The campaign was well received by both internal teams and educators, and thousands of students entered the competition as a result.
